Shipping containers are traded in $US. Prices fluctuate with the currency market and availability of units from lease companies. The price is always quoted without GST. The reason for this is that a lot of units are imported to be re-exported at a later date.

In Transit Containers

Shipping containers are usually much more expensive in towns and cities that do not have a Port Container Terminal. This is because of additional freight and handling fees. Container Tracking

All shipping containers have a serial number stamped into the frame of the unit, as well as printed in them for Import / Export tracking purposes and Import TAX. The other reason for the serial number is to locate stolen containers, which are often moved interstate and sold to un-suspecting buyers.

Other Size Shipping Containers

There are a range of other sizes and types of shipping containers on the market today. 10ft, 20ft and 40ft are the most common. We normally do not hold stock of 6ft, 8ft or 10ft containers, however we can easily acquire these units on request.

Price Increase

From 2017 all container prices increased due to new environmental laws prohibiting the use of solvent based paints. Now all shipping containers must be painted with water based paints.
